Test fixture which adapts 1689M & 1693 Digibridges to radial or axial leaded components.
Connection is made by via BNC to BNC cable (1689-9602) included with 1689M/93.
Fixture includes two axial lead test clips 1657-5995.
Open and short instructions
Instrument zeroing should be performed once the test fixture is connected.
For an open, a lead or buss wire should be inserted in the + slot and another lead in the - slot to ensure good contact between the wiper blades.
For a short the + and - contacts should be shorted together with bus wire, the larger the better, but in accordance with wire sizes discussed above.
See picture below for open and short example
It should be noted that if measurements are to be made on the very lowest range (20 mΩ full scale), readings could be in error, although small, by the resistance value of the short itself.
The approximate value of the shorting wire can be determined by zeroing the instrument using the standard 4-terminal Kelvin clips and then measuring the resistance of the shorting wire.
